PRV-9000 Operating Instructions
1.4.2 Video Mode
When selecting the Video mode, refer to these guidelines.
Two picture quality/recording time settings
Compatible with many DVD devices when the disc is finalized
Limited editing ability
1.4.3 Editing A DVD Recording
Traditionally, editing a VCR/VHS videotape requires two tape decks, one
deck to play back the original tape and a second unit to record the changes.
DVD recording allows you to make a Playlist of what to play and when to play
it, leaving the original material intact (Fig 1-5). The PRV-9000 recorder plays
back the disc according to your Playlist selections.
Figure 1-5: Original content > edited Playlist
Throughout this manual, the word, Original, refers to the actual content while
the word, Playlist, refers to the edited version.
1.4.4 On-Screen Icons
While using the PRV-9000 recorder, a <disc> icon or a <player> icon may
appear on-screen. The <disc> icon means that the disc blocks the requested
function and the <player> icon means the recorder blocks the function.
