PRV-9000 Operating Instructions
4.10.2 Initialize for Video Mode Recording
When recording in Video mode (DVD-R or DVD-RW discs), select either V1
(high quality) or V2 (standard) setting. The V2 setting provides approximately
twice as much recording time. The Settings screen also provides the
following information:
Total disc recording time
Data transfer time
Remaining recording time available (based on the current settings)
Note: Reinitializing a DVD-RW disc causes all existing material on that disc to be
erased/lost.
To prepare for Video mode recording, follow the directions below.
1. Load a disc formatted for Video mode recording.
2. Press REC MODE to enter the submenu.
3. Use the joystick to highlight the appropriate mode.
V1 (high quality)
V2 (standard)
4. Preview the production for picture quality if necessary.
Additional instructions below
5. Press REC MODE again to set the mode and dismiss the menu.
A production preview option is available on this submenu.
1. Select the PREVIEW menu button to activate an on-screen display of
how the material will appear after recording.
2. Adjust the picture quality and/or recording time as needed.
Refer to Chapter 7: EDITING FUNCTIONS & OPTIONS and Chapter
10: DISC SETUP MENU for more information.
3. Press ENTER to accept the displayed settings.
Unless changes are sent to the recorder, the settings are automatically
saved after a few seconds and the menu disappears.
Note: For additional information about Video mode, refer and to an earlier section in
this chapter 4.8.2 Video Mode Recording and to Chapter 1: INTRODUCTION, section
1.4.2 Video Mode.
